Super Summer Fun

This is Mandy's signature look...
with her fingers in her mouth!!
She is growing up so very fast...
What a big girl!

Anna Katherine...How pretty is that red hair??That is the smile I love...
They actually did this on their own...

So it has been quite some time since my last blog entry. We have been having a great summer and keeping busy with Bible School, Vacation, and swimming at Nana and Poppas. With two beach trips under our belt and another coming up, our summer is flying by! The girls have been going to day care two days a week. Of course Anna Kate loves is because she can see her friends from t-ball and 3 yr. old preschool. Mandy on the other hand is really struggling. Since birth, she has ALWAYS stayed at home. While the experience is somewhat traumatic for her, I know it is best. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that she will do better when/if they go full time in the Fall.

On our most recent beach trip we were gone for 10 days. Curt nor I were aware of the number of pictures we took until we got home. I have already printed them off and put them in an album so the girls can continue to look at them. They LOVE the beach and have already asked if we can move there when we sell our house...sorry girls, I haven't been able to talk dad into it yet!

I hope that all is well for you. Life is great with our little Monkey Toes. Until then...

Who is counting???

So school is drawing to a close and we only have 5 full days and two half days left...but I AM NOT counting!! I cannot believe that this is the end of my fifth year of teaching. The time has really flown by, however, I CANNOT imagine teaching for another 20 years before I retire. Kids these days are SO different from when I was in school. Each day I count my blessings that my two are healthy and happy. I am very thankful that they do not face some of the challenges I see my students facing on a daily basis. I am also thinking more seriously about homeschooling (wink wink). I hope we will all remember to be thankful for the blessings we so often take for granted....our children's physical, emotional, and mental health. After all, we are the ones that God has entrusted with his most precious possessions.

Until next time...

Tee Ball

Anna Kate had her first tee ball game last week. Iwas never this incredibly talented athlete in high school, but I LOVED to play. Our first tee ball game consisted of filling our glove with red dirt and watching it fly through the night air as the glove turned upside down! She had no idea the other kids were even hitting the ball when she was in the field. Batting on the other hand was a different story. She hits the ball well and can run like the wind (that comes from Curt). By the end of the game, she had figured out to run after the ball when it is hit! Hopefully, by May, we will be interested in tee ball. But for now, we will stick filling our glove with dirt and watching it fly!! I have not yet uploaded the first game, but here are a few shots of the first practice!! Until then, God bless!!

Spending the Night Away...

Mandy and Anna Kate are night and day. I am constantly amazed by how different siblings can be. Anna Kate jumps at the chance to spend the night away from home. Mandy, on the other hand, is a totally different story. Curtis' dad is in the hospital and required us to be away from home late for the last couple of nights. The girls stayed with Nana and Poppa (my parents) while we were with Curtis' dad. We picked them up late both nights so Mandy could be at home. Last night, Poppa ask Mandy to spend the night with him. Her response was, "Poppa, why don't you and Nana come to my house and spend the night with me." She has really thought this one out. I am constantly amazed at the intelligence of my 3 and 4 year old!!

On a different note, Anna Kate discussed the flu with Ann Marie at tee ball practice yesterday. Too bad when Ann Marie got home she told her mom that Anna Kate told her that one of the girls on the team "had the fluid." Out of the mouths of babes!!

Until next time!

New Beginnings

So this is totally new for me. I thought this would be a great outlet for my thoughts and a way for friends and family to keep up with our little "Monkey Toes!" Our little "monkeys" keep us very busy these days. Anna Kate is in pre-school and is preparing to start tee ball on the 18th of this month! I know, I can hardly believe that my baby is old enough to play tee ball. Lucky for Anna Kate, her "Unc" will be her coach this year. Les is really good with the kids and they really like him. Cousin Miller will also be on board as a tee ball "Tiger!"

Mandy is growing and really wishes she was old enough to play ball as well! For now, she is happy being her "big sissies" cheerleader! Mandy has had lots of challenges over the last couple years, but the sun is coming through the clouds and it looks like things are getting better! Her health has really improved and she actually gained 7lbs. over the last year!! WOW!!!

For now, it is bedtime and I have two girls with "monkey toes" in need of a nursery rhyme! Until then, take care and God bless!!
